The Delhi government in a recent announcement has allowed shops in Delhi to remain open till 11 pm, seven days a week. Eating joints can take their last order till midnight. A far cry from now when shops can remain open till 7–30 pm in summer and 7 pm in winter. The Centre for Civil Society (CCS) had done a research paper on it where we brought out the multiple and unclear rules regarding night trade, and how these rules are bypassed by the traders through pay-ups to the labour inpectors and police.
