Hello again from your Spooky friends!

This week, our community was very moved by the story of Lorelai and Rory, two abandoned dogs who were discovered on a property in Chesterfield, SC. As you can tell by the photos below, when animal control found these dogs, they were emaciated and in terrible physical condition. The dogs were left without food or water and were chained, which made them incapable of foraging for themselves, sheltering, or escaping predators.

Luckily, the dogs were removed and taken in by Forgotten, Now Family rescue in Charlotte, NC. FNF is a very active, women-founded rescue organization focusing on all types of dogs.

In addition to the general neglect the dogs were facing, they were both in need of immediate critical care. Lorelai was infested with heartworms and Rory required three blood transfusions to achieve a normal CBC. Obviously their medical was the immediate concern, and we have donated $1000 towards their care.

Despite all the adversity, it does look like this story will have a happy ending! Both dogs seem to have excellent temperaments and have already been placed in fosters, which leads us to believe that they will be very adoptable. You can follow Forgotten Now Family on social and bookmark their adoption page to stay updated. Hopefully, these girls will be available soon, and in the meantime, you can check out all the other pups who are looking for homes.

We’re excited to continue following Lorelai and Rory’s story. The worst is over for these two, and hopefully we get to see them thriving as part of a new family/families in the very near future.

As always, we‘re linking this blog to a Spooky Pet auction on Crypto.com/NFT. We will donate a portion of proceeds (all earnings over $50 minus transaction fees) from the auction directly to FNF to help with continued care for Lorelai and Rory and other dogs like them. If you purchase or win a Spooky Pet, you will be automatically authed into the Spooky Pets community and will get voting rights, access to member perks, and the weekly Spooky Pet newsletter, where we update members on the progress of the project and our previous featured animals.

This week, we’re auctioning Spooky Pet #0206, who we have named Rory! The auction will end on Friday September 16th, so get those bids in soon.

Even if you don’t win the auction, there are still plenty of Spooky Pets available on Crypto.com! Adopt yours today and join the team. 10% of every initial sale will be deposited directly in the Spooky Pets philanthropic treasury. To learn more, visit us on the web, Twitter, or the gram.
