Spooky Pets 013: XL Diego
Happy Tuesday and happy giving season to all our spooky friends!
Today we a re posting our 13th blog and celebrating our 13th sponsorship and we‘re hoping it’s going to be a lucky one!
Say hello to Diego.
Diego was found abandoned in a field and was rescued by The Bullpen Way Station and Animal Sanctuary in Northern Georgia after one day in the shelter The Bullpen team pulled Diego as quickly as possible due to a life-threatening, visible infection that was also infested with parasites. Diego is currently being treated, and has a decent chance at survival, but with his infection causing liver issues, he’s going to require a lot of care in the coming days and weeks. We’ve donated $1000 to The Bullpen to help Diego fight for his life.
We’re reaching out to learn more about Diego, but he is an obvious case of neglect and, due to his XL size, was probably a dog that someone paid good money for before dumping. The Bullpen specializes in taking in, adopting out and raising awareness for giant breed (100lb plus) dogs like Diego. Because their size and strength often makes them attractive to the types of owners who are least equipped to care for them, giant breed dogs (like Boerboels, Mastiffs, Corsos, etc) are more likely than other dogs to be overbred, neglected and abandoned.
The Spooky Pets community will be keeping track of Diego’s progress. We’re hoping that he pulls through and that we’ll be able to share an adoption link for him in the future. Like all gentle giants, he deserves a home and family of his own. 🙏🙏🙏

They need excellent training, a lot of space, they need a lot of food, and careful health monitoring.
