Spool DAO is happy to introduce Axel Prettl as Spool’s new Chief Operating Officer.

Axel brings much to the table with his diversified background: he is an Economics Ph.D., researcher, and entrepreneur. Six years ago he founded a software company (that he describes as “boring compared to everything crypto”) which provides an intranet for associations and clubs.

He approached the blockchain space in 2012 when he bought his first Bitcoins and regretfully sold most until 2015. The breaking point for him was when he got into Ethereum and Smart Contracts, and since 2016/2017 he took part in hackathons and became an advisor for different projects within the industry.

One and a half years ago, Axel got in contact with some of Spool’s builders where many inspirational conversations took place, and led him to make the decision to gratefully become one of the core founding contributors of the Spool DAO. Axel’s mission was solidified: he began contributing even more to Spool’s success story. He brings forward years of experience with a business-oriented background, scrutinizing research mindset, and an economical long-term approach to the Spool DAO.

Inspired by the trailblazing business model of a DAO, Axel understands that with a concept so new, naturally, complexities arise. What made Axel tick is unveiling what potential inefficiencies are accompanied by such complexities within the DAO Infrastructure. Intrigued by the nuances needed for a DAO to truly thrive, he offered to step in and take Spool to further strength. Joining the core team as a COO, he now takes charge of streamlining processes and facilitating the project’s growth.

Axel commented:

As Spool’s COO, I aim to create a sustainable and strong foundation for the well-oiled machine we need to take the whole Spool DAO to further strength.

Once the forward oriented foundations are established we can truly begin to expand the Spool ecosystem and flexibly adapt to future challenges with ease.

Axel is one of the key people within Spool’s ecosystem, his drive and passion for the project and his experience will only drive the Spool DAO forward.

When asked what excites him about Spool, Axel said,

Plenty of things excite me about Spool but two are really sticking out:

- The immense possibilities which Spool opens up for every individual and every business. Every night you can fall asleep thinking about new ways Spool can be implemented, or enhanced in various ways.

- The people behind the endeavor of transforming the vision behind Spool into a reality.

Spool’s new COO believes that DeFi can really shape the future of the worldwide economy and that Spool will play a fundamental role in this process.

In his words:

If we agree that DeFi, in general, will bring sustainable added value to the world as we know it, then it’s an easy one to see why Spool itself is important and here to stay. Spool is the backbone for a plethora of new DeFi solutions: through Spool DeFi is easy to access and use for everyone, from individual DeFi users to traditional finance entities. Spool opens up DeFi to the world.
