It’s Time For Change

Social media is a powerful tool and, like all tools, we must educate ourselves on how to use it as well as the necessary precautions that must be taken. Operating a power drill requires the user to be aware of the dangers of misusing the tool — why does the same not apply for social media?

The mental illness epidemic in the West has been caused by our inability to adapt to the advent of the information age and it’s time we started educating ourselves on how to use social media without hurting ourselves.

This education must start in schools, but we need to take the action instead of waiting for the government to step in and do something. My team and I are proposing a new curriculum that focuses on mental health but to create this change requires everyone to come together as a community and make our voices heard.
