8 Ways To Heal Anxious Tendencies

1. Speach — reprogramming the way we speak about ourselves. When we say “I have anxiety” we are telling ourselves a story about who we are and what we can be. However, when we change this to “I have the tendency to be anxious sometimes” we are reinforcing the idea that we are so much more than a limiting label.

2. Passion — doing what we love every day. The opposite of being anxious is being care-free and we can enter this bliss-like state of mind when we immerse ourselves in doing what we love — singing, dancing, cooking, drawing etc.

3. Brainwashing — filling the subconscious with peace. Our subconscious mind creates thoughts based on the information we feed ourselves through conversation, images, videos and books. When we fill the subconscious with peaceful imagery such as nature & positivity our anxious thoughts will subside.

4. Affirmations — reinforcing positive beliefs. Reciting powerful beliefs such as “I am at peace with myself” every day has a positive impact on the way we see ourselves. Over time this builds self-esteem which remedies much of the anxiety we can feel.

5. Community — our positive vibe tribe. Surrounding ourselves with people who love & support us is essential for minimising our anxious tendencies. Our positive vibe tribe will be the ones who emphasise our greatness, rather than our insecurities.

6. Exercise — moving into the body. Endorphins are released from the brain after strenuous exercise and they have an immediate calming effect on our minds. Exercise can be used as an outlet for the stress we feel accumulate daily which, if left unchecked, can increase the frequency of our anxious tendencies.

7. Authenticity — being true to ourselves. Removing all expectations others have imposed on us and living in complete alignment with our truth is one of the most powerful ways to reduce anxious tendencies. When what we say, think and do are all in harmony — then we will know peace.

8. Perspective — everything is temporary. Thoughts are just thoughts until we focus on them and allow them to dominate our minds. Nothing lasts forever and in hard times we must remember: this too shall pass.

Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor.

Peace & positive vibes.
