How To Be Consistent

1. Progress — the best motivation. Taking action is the key to being consistent because actions create progress and progress becomes addictive. In order to keep the needle of progress moving forward we have to continue taking action.

2. Diet — being mindful of what we feed ourselves. The subconscious mind is a bank vault — we can only withdraw what we deposit. We must feed ourselves the fuel that will encourage us to continue, rather than mindless content that aims to distract.

3. Breaks — refreshing the mind. Often times we can feel hesitant to continue because we’ve “hit a wall”. These walls only exist in the mind and can be knocked down by taking breaks and coming back with a fresh pair of eyes.

4. Distractions — things we don’t need to be doing. Removing distractions such as negative people, television & meaningless conversation gives us a lot more time on our hands to invest in what we love.

5. Tribe — surrounding ourselves with doers. Investing our time with others who are taking action on their dreams will inspire us to do the same — we become the average of the people we spend the most time with.

6. Passion — loving what we do. It’s pretty hard to stay consistent without burning out if we don’t enjoy what we’re doing. When we are doing what we love we look forward to doing it and consistency comes naturally.

7. Knowledge — being a curious student of life. The more we learn about our craft the more we improve, when we think we’ve learned all we can we become complacent and this encourages laziness.

8. Vision — knowing where we’re going. Having an idea of what our finish line looks like gives us a target to aim for and reminds us that we need to take action regularly to hit the bullseye.

Consistency comes from taking action every day.
