7 Ways You Can Release Resentment Right Now

1. Breathe — focus on the present. Paying close attention to the breath is one of the most powerful ways for us to tune into the present moment which is where we experience our deepest joy.

2. Meditate — detach from thoughts. Much of the resentment we feel can be released when we learn to stop following the movement of our thoughts during meditation. This means allowing thoughts to come and go without attaching ourselves to them for a few minutes a day.

3. Exercise — working out the negativity. Moving into the body is one of the ways we can release negative energy in the form of heat & sweat which contains toxins.

4. Create — transmute the emotion. Emotions are energy in motion, expressing ourselves creatively is one of the ways we can allow this energy to work through us. If we leave these emotions unexpressed they manifest in poor mental & physical health.

5. Talk — express how we feel. Surrounding ourselves with positive people helps us to release the resistance to forgiveness that harbouring resentment creates because they see us in unconditional positive regard which invites us to forgive ourselves.

6. Perspective — this too shall pass. Observing the temporary nature of existence and understanding what’s truly important to us gives us a sense of perspective that prioritises enjoyment rather than negativity.

7. Reflection — making the right choice. Contemplating the root of our resentment in comparison to the joy of presence presents us with the choice of which one we want to focus on.

Forgiveness is the key to releasing resentment.

Peace & positive vibes.
