8 Ways To Deal With Anxiety
1. Nature — find peace. Immersing ourselves in nature every day can have a calming effect on our minds because we are filling our subconscious mind with peaceful imagery such as flowing water, trees and greenery.
2. Mindfulness — be in the now. Anxiety attacks can be induced by projecting outside of the now, usually into the future and predicting what might happen. Tuning into the senses and observing what’s going on around us grounds us in the present moment which relieves much of the anxiety we experience.
3. Positive energy — connect with positive people. Whether it’s animals, friends or family members — spend time with those who make you feel good and make them a priority in your life. This will help to feed the subconscious with positive energy which we draw on to create thoughts.
4. Gratitude — give thanks. Often times our anxiety can leave us feeling as though there’s nothing good in our lives. Immediately reverting to the worst case scenario and then giving thanks to the universe that this is not the case is a great way to combat the feeling of helplessness anxiety can bring.
5. Meditation — checking in with ourselves. Observing our thought patterns during meditation can reveal a lot about what dominates our minds. This can lead us to identifying what we can remove from our lives to reduce our anxiety levels — for example not watching the news if our anxiety revolves around world events.
6. Relaxation — making time for ourselves. Relaxation doesn’t have to be sitting in a bath tub with candles all around, it can be whatever we want it to be. Some of us prefer relaxing with video games, playing with animals or listening to music. They key here is to find what works for us and making it a daily ritual to reduce our stress levels.
7. Sleep — let the mind rest. Our minds can become overstimulated with all of the information we consume on a daily basis and this can lead to anxiety. Getting at least 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep each day allows the mind time to detox from being bombarded with information which can reduce the severity of our anxiety.
8. Exercise — work it out. When we exercise we are allowing the body to rid itself of pent-up energy, if this energy becomes trapped in the body for too long it can manifest itself in various ways such as anxiety and other mental health challenges.
Lose the mind & come to your senses to be in the now.
Peace & positive vibes.
