How To Stop Judging Yourself

1. Acceptance — we all make mistakes. We must give ourselves permission to make mistakes because this is how we learn, if we never made a mistake again we would never learn anything and our lives would become intolerably mundane.

2. Reflection — learning from the past. Finding the lesson embedded in past experiences is essential in releasing resentment we hold toward ourselves.

3. Perspective — we grow through what we go through. Understanding that everything we’ve been through has been beneficial for our growth and helped us become who we are today allows us to set aside judgments we hold of ourselves.

4. Honesty — owning up to mistakes. Acknowledging the mistakes we’ve made paves the way for growth, denial leads to more suffering.

5. Authenticity — being real with ourselves. Being authentic prevents us from voluntarily choosing a life of suffering because we are prioritising how we want to feel rather than trying to please others.

6. Tribe — surrounding ourselves with positive people. Spending time with the people who nurture and support our growth helps us to stop blaming ourselves for past mistakes and focus on what we can do with the present moment.

7. Purpose — understanding why the past was necessary. Putting a meaning behind our suffering enables us to turn it into a strength rather than something to be ashamed of.

There is no good or bad — our judgment makes it so.

Peace & positive vibes.
