9 Essential Self-Care Practices You Need To Practice Daily
1. Acceptance — it is what it is. Entertaining what-ifs is extremely detrimental to our mental health — we must focus on the present moment & do the best we can with what we have.
2. Positivity — looking forward to each day. Filling our time with things that we enjoy makes the time we have here worth living & makes us excited to live each day.
3. Perspective — reminding ourselves what’s truly important. When we lose perspective we inflict suffering onto ourselves by taking things personally, placing importance on trivial things & comparing ourselves to others. We must remind ourselves that we are only here for a limited time to maintain perspective.
4. Empathy — being there for ourselves. We can be our own harshest critics, self-care is all about being empathetic to our own suffering and not judging ourselves.
5. Expression — allowing emotions to move through us. Emotions are energy in motion and we must allow them to move through us freely through creative expression, exercise & conversation otherwise they will manifest in poor mental & physical health.
6. Rest — recharging our batteries. Giving ourselves enough time to rest every day is essential for being able to perform to the highest capacity.
7. Love — the most powerful force in the universe. Spending time with the people, places & things we love inspires positive thoughts & feelings because we’re in the love vibration.
8. Affirmations — reprogramming limiting beliefs. Reinforcing positive beliefs such as “I am beautiful” helps us get rid of beliefs that don’t serve us — “I’m not attractive enough”.
9. Authenticity — being true to ourselves. Giving ourselves permission to be, do, say & think whatever we want without compromising our truth for the comfort of others is how we create peace of mind.
