6 Anxiety Prevention Techniques You Need To Know

1. Breathing — turning our focus inward. Bringing our attention to the sensation of the breath filling and leaving the vessel is how we ground ourselves when thought consumes us.

2. Meditation — observing our thoughts. Simply watching our thoughts and allowing them to move on instead of attaching ourselves to them helps us to detach from anxious thought patterns when they arise.

3. Mindfulness — living in the now. Acknowledging when we’re creating our own suffering by entertaining ideas of the past or future is half the battle in overcoming anxiety. This is why we must practice mindfulness — lose the mind & come to the senses.

4. Yoga — moving into the body. Focusing on our breathing during difficult poses helps us maintain a sense of calm when every day stresses present themselves.

5. Creativity — an expression of the soul. We can prevent anxiety attacks and stress-related diseases if we express our emotions through drawing, dancing, painting, singing, cooking or whatever way we feel creatively inclined.

6. Self-love — prioritising our wellbeing. Much of the suffering we endure can be avoided when we fill our own cup first and then allow others to drink from our overflowing abundance. This means unapologetically doing what makes us feel good whilst not doing harm to ourselves or others.

We experience peace of mind in the now, nowhere else.
