7 Ways To Naturally Boost Your Mood

1. Exercise — release of endorphins. Strenuous exercise stimulates the release of feel-good chemicals called endorphins, hence why exercise is recommended as a natural remedy for anything that ails the mind.

2. Mindfulness — grounding ourselves in the now. The now is where we experience our deepest joy, when we are consumed by negative thoughts or emotions we must lose our minds and come to our senses to be reminded of the joy that awaits us in the now.

3. Creativity — soul expression. Allowing ourselves the time to freely express ourselves creatively without judgment is how we free ourselves from expectation which contributes to feeling low.

4. Passion — doing what we love. If we’re doing things we hate every single day, how can we expect to feel good? The actions do not correlate with the goal, so we must align our actions with how we want to feel and do what we love.

5. Tribe — surrounding ourselves with good energy. Spending time with the people (and animals) that make us feel good elevates our mood and helps to combat the negative effects of solitude.

6. Laughter — natural medicine for the soul. One of the most potent natural cures for that which ails the mind is laughter. The lungs carry energy absorbed from trauma, exercising the lungs through laughter and crying is how we release this energy and prevent it from causing further harm.

7. Rest — making time to do nothing. Low mood can be a result of constantly being on the go and this is why it’s absolutely essential to allow the body and mind time to recuperate with sleep, meditation and Yin activities such as walking in nature.

We don’t need drugs to feel good.
