The Outlast Trials | Multiplayer Horror Game Launches in 2021

The Outlast Trials is a new era in the Outlast series soon to be released by Red Barrels Studios. The Outlast series began in 2013 with the release of Outlast followed by Outlast Whistleblower released in 2014 and then Outlast 2 released in 2017.

Outlast Trials has been described by the developers as being “a distinct experience set in the Outlast universe.” and that “we strive to be risk-takers and this one is a pretty big challenge.” Unlike previous Outlast games this one will be multiplayer will up to 4 people having the ability to play at once. Red Barrels has described Outlast Trials as not being a sequel to Outlast 1 & 2 but casted in the Outlast Universe.

Outlast Trials is a horror game set during the Cold War where players will be subject to secret experiments and will have to work with their friends to survive. Co-Founder of Red Barrels David Chateauneuf, said “Our team is hard at work creating a new experience that will bring fear and anxiety to millions of players, whether they go through the experiments alone or with friends.”

According to their official website at redbarrelsgames.com more details will be released soon leaving a statement that said the game is in “the early stages of production.” They have also made a promise to release more information soon about Outlast Trials. Red Barrels have said that they expect to release the game in late 2021.
