Jayhawks with New Jobs in Sport — Fall 2017

As we get rolling with the fall semester, I’m happy to share another batch of Jayhawks with new jobs in the sport industry. Nothing makes us happier than sharing what our wonderful alumni are doing in the field.

Holdyn Halperin (UG 2016)
Associate Director of Ticketing
The University of Alabama Athletics

“As Associate Director in the Ticket Office of the Athletic Department at the University of Alabama my core responsibilities include Access Management, Football allocation, and supervising all ticketing aspects for 3 sports. I am in charge of all tickets, barcodes, ticket scanners, and working with 3 other departments to ensure that customers with valid tickets are allowed to enter our events and those with invalid tickets are not. I also allocate tickets for all football events. The bulk of this is building facility maps and allocating major groups, donors, player/coach guests, and students for away games. This enables me to travel and work away football games as well. For Baseball, Gymnastics, and Women’s Basketball — I am in charge of pricing, policy implementation, ticketing set up, sending applications via email and mail, fulfilling orders and special requests, allocating all held seats, sending season print data to our printing partner, and supervising all events (including postseason).

It is an actual fact that I would not have been offered this job had I not had to do an internship to complete my Sport Management degree. I have learned a vast amount in my short time in intercollegiate athletics at the University of Kansas, Michigan State University, and now at the University of Alabama. Know that you are getting a degree that will set you up to succeed in the business of sport, but also that it truly is all about who you know. I would love to be a connection for any of you. Please do not hesitate to reach out for guidance or assistance. Rock Chalk!”
