How ‘Bout Those Chiefs!

The Kansas City Chiefs qualified for their second straight Super Bowl in 2021 — falling one game short of a repeat title. While you likely know names like Mahomes, Kelce, and Mathieu, Super Bowl appearances can’t be accomplished with hard work just on the field. It takes a team of amazing sport managers to complete a successful year. We’re proud to feature a number of outstanding University of Kansas alumni and current students that have helped the Chiefs this season.

Jackson DeLay

Jackson DeLay (’14) — After his graduation from KU, Jackson has worked his way up within the Chiefs organization over the past seven seasons. Currently, Jackson serves as the Marketing Manager for the 2020 season.

Jackie LaBarge

Jackie LaBarge (’16 & ’18) — In a typical year, Jackie helps organize and execute a wide range of outings at Arrowhead Stadium while serving as the Event Coordinator. This season, among other tasks, she aided in the health screenings for over 3,000 employees each game. For Super Bowl LV, Jackie assisted with the Family and Friends send off to Tampa.

Kristen Krug

Kristen Krug (’89) — In her role as the Vice President of Administration, she served as an Infection Control Officer during this unique year — helping the Chiefs players and staff follow NFL health and safety protocols for COVID testing and monitoring.

We are truly impressed by the resilience of our alumni. COVID sought to shut down all things sports, but with the hard work and dedication of some of our alum, the Chiefs were able to successfully complete an entire season.

Shelby Blankenbaker

“I will say it {the season} definitely felt different this year, but so happy for the team and this city!” — Shelby Blankenbaker (‘17)

Shelby Blankenbaker (’17) — In her role as Premium Sales & Services Coordinator, Shelby has been helping her clients acquire tickets and assist with travel plans for Super Bowl LV. during the year, she also managed the COVID testing for over 2,000 suite guests each game.

Kim Hobbs

Kim Hobbs — Kim is quite busy during Chiefs games, overseeing partnership activation and the premium seating program. In non-COVID seasons, she’d be spending Super Bowl Sunday hosting partners. We hope to see Kim back interacting with partners next season and hosting many premium seating guests.

Jalen Myrick

Jalen Myrick — Along with being enrolled in our online Masters program, Jalen serves as a Player Personnel Assistant for the Chiefs. His recent tasks included positional analysis of potential playoff opponents and scouting collegiate prospects at the Senior Bowl.

Holt McKenney

Holt McKenney (’18) — From helping set up the locker room to shooting video using a robotic camera, Holt has his hands in numerous aspects of the Chiefs organization as a Video & Equipment Assistant. On game days you may even be able to spot him shagging kicks before the game!

Alexis Emert

Alexis Emert (’17) — Alexis will soon be a double KU graduate as she finishes up the online Masters program while working as an Event Coordinator for the Chiefs. Along with her regular duties, during the 2020 season she also helped lead employee COVID testing each game.

Cassie Enriquez

Cassie Enriquez (’18 &’20) — Cassie is a double alum as she completed the masters program this past summer. During the 2020 season, Cassie managed over 600 season ticket member accounts as a Fan Experience Representative.

Congratulations again to all of our amazing alumni! We can’t wait to see what you will accomplish in the 2021 season and beyond — Rock Chalk!
