Virtual Dr. Bob 5K Run Coming Up September 16th

This year, the department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences is including a Virtual Dr. Bob 5K Run to the traditional event. If you cannot make it to the event, please consider taking part in this year’s inaugural Virtual Dr. Bob Run. The cost is $30, and you may register at the following link: tinyurl.com/DrBob17

Participants in the Virtual Dr. Bob Run will receive a t-shirt, bib, and registration package, and may then opt to run from their respective locations. Please email your mailing address to jrbass@ku.edu after signing up for the virtual race. If you participate in the race virtually, consider posting a picture to the Dr. Bob Run Facebook page.

If you happen to be in the area, we would like to invite you to participate in the 8th annual Dr. Bob Run at Rimrock Farm. Runners, joggers, and walkers can all participate in the 5K event, which begins at 9:00 a.m. Also, be sure to bring out the family and support your children in the 1 Mile Kids Run at 9:45 a.m. You may register for the event at the same link used for the virtual 5k race.

Proceeds from the Dr. Bob Run 5K Event support the Dr. Bob Frederick Scholarship program at the University of Kansas. For more information on other scholarships available through the KU School of Education, please visit our scholarships section of the KU School of Education Student Services web page. Dr. Bob Frederick is a former KU Athletic Director and lecturer for the Health, Sport & Exercise Sciences Department at the University of Kansas. After passing away in June 2009, Dr. Bob’s family established the Dr. Bob Frederick Scholarship Program in dedication to the financial support of graduate students studying Sport Management at the University of Kansas Department of Health, Sport & Exercise Science.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Sport Management and HSES departments at KU!
