Grading Sacramento’s 2016 Off-season Moves (So Far)
The Kings have been making very unusual moves this off-season, let’s see the good and bad.
No. 1 Kings sign Arron Afflalo

The Kings started off the off-season on a high note. Signing a shooting guard who can actually shoot. 2 year/$25mil. It has been a problem for years now and it is finally filled, hopefully.
Grade: B+
No. 2 Anthony Tolliver

If you’re a Kings fan and you see the Kings sign another big, you panic. With the overload of front court players, you are hoping for the Kings to make some moves and get some backcourt players. Looking from another perspective, the Kings have desperately been looking for a stretch 4 and what better than a cheap one.
Grade: C-
No. 3 Kings sign Garrett Temple

The Kings are finally addressing their main problem keeping them from winning, defense. Getting guys that are defense-first play style is going to benefit this team greatly. Although, Temple is being overpaid making around 8M a year for his calibre is unheard of. He isn’t to good offensively so let’s see how he does.
Grade: C
No. 4 Kings Sign Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes is back! You know what that means, technicals and fights are going to happen left and right, especially with Cousins on the same team, it should be fun to watch. But on a serious note, Matt Barnes is actually one of the most underrated players in the league. We saw the damage he caused in Memphis, recording a triple double. He is another defensive player, who also has an offensive game. It should benefit our team.
Grade: B
No. 5 Kings rescind Rights to Seth Curry.

I do not know why, but the Kings let go of Seth Curry and let him sign with Dallas. He was showing his true potential towards the end of the season and was proving he could start in this league. Apparently it wasn’t good enough for Sacramento. They let a two way player get away for 3-4M a year.
Grade: D-
No 6. Sacramento Kings Put Rudy Gay, Kosta Koufus, and Ben McLemore on the trading block.

If you read my blogs, you know I’m not a fan of any of these players by any means. The only one I would consider keeping is Gay, but I rather not. It’s almost like Vlade Divac read my mind with this one and knocked it out of the park. Now let’s hope we get something good in return for them.
Grade: A+ (For now)
