Ranking the Best UAAP Season 82 Basketball Players Part 5: Daily RAPM Estimate (DRE)
This series will use different advanced basketball stats and metrics to rank the best UAAP Season 82 Basketball Players.
The metric DRE is made by Kevin Ferrigan which is a metric like John Hollinger’s Game Score that can be used to get a rough estimate of a player’s bulk productivity in a given game. Unlike Game Score, DRE’s weights are derived empirically through regression analysis. How Kevin Ferrigan came up with this metric is found here.
The metric clearly values defensive stats the most. Volume shooters are also balanced in this metric as field goal attempts ngeatively affects the metric. This metric is my personal favorite.

*Note that for Parts 3 to 5, players who are eligible in the rankings must have a usage rate that is above league average because the three metrics focus on efficiency rather than accumulated stats. We will also be starting to show the true shooting percentage. True shooting percentages that are not ranked did not meet the requirements (free throw attempts, 2 point attempts and 3 point attempts must be above league average).
