The first trophy of the English season is up for grabs at Wembley on Sunday as Manchester United play Southampton in the EFL Cup.

Jose Mourinho has a real affection for the EFL Cup — it was his first trophy in English football when he won it with Chelsea back in 2005.

He’s since lifted the cup on three other occassions as Blues boss, but would love to get off the mark for United with victory on Sunday.

Southampton boss Claude Puel would love to win his first trophy as Saints boss — which would also be the south coast’s first major cup win since 1976.

They come into this game as outsiders — but have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool in the past two rounds on the road to Wembley, which shows their ability to upset any side.

Consistency has been their biggest challenge this season, which is why they sit in 11th position in the Premier League.

Mourinho’s cup final record is excellent, however, and there’ll be no complacency from his United side.

I’ll be backing the 1.74 for a Red Devils win with Sportsbet.io.

Another one of United’s big players with a great final record is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede has scored seven cup final goals, and has a 69% win record in major finals.

He scored on his United debut at Wembley in the Community Shield, and he’s a well-priced 1.84 to score anytime on Sunday.
