France

Hosts France will be more than happy with their chances of progressing to the knockout stages as they look to become European Champions on their own patch.

Didier Deschamps has a host of big-name stars he can call upon this summer including Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet and Hugo Lloris.

All four have been in fine form for their domestic clubs this season and the vocal home support will be hoping they still have enough left in the tank to go all the way.

France should have no trouble reaching the knockout stages and are priced up at 37/100 with Sportsbet.io to win the group. It’s 14/5 for them to lift the tournament this summer.

Switzerland

The side expected to give France the most to think about during the group stages is Switzerland, who finished second in qualifying behind an unbeaten England.

Arsenal new boy Granit Xhaka is in the squad, as is Stoke midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri and defender Stephan Lichsteiner, who won the league with Juventus this season.

However, they will need to step up on previous editions of the tournament having only secured one victory in the tournament in the last three running’s.

Switzerland are 7/2 to win the group but look likely to finish in second, which they would be more than happy with. It’s 35/1 they go all the way.

Romania

Group A challengers Romania lost a seven-goal thriller against Ukraine on Sunday in a pre-season friendly — but that was their first defeat in 15 and they will prove no mugs.

They may not have the star names that France, Germany and Spain can offer, but they qualified for the tournament with relative ease, finishing four points clear of third.

They will have fond memories of playing France having held Les Bleus to a goalless draw in the 2008 edition of the tournament.

However, only the most patriotic of fans will be backing them to go all the way and win the tournament at 89/1, with the likeliness of them winning the group standing at 36/5.

Albania

Minnows Albania make their major-tournament debut in France this summer having qualified in second place behind Portugal in Group I.

They only won four of their eight matches in qualifying, but it was enough to get the better of Denmark and Serbia, who came up short.

It continues an upward curve for Albania under the tutelage of Italian manager Gianni De Biassi, who has helped them begin to compete.

However, they will need a Leicester-sized effort to win the group with Sportsbet.io pricing them up at 25/1 to do exactly that. It’s 159/1 that they win the tournament.
