Today most people know that there are benefits to being fully hydrated throughout the day, however, most don’t know that when you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated.

This week we look at LVL a real-time hydration tracker that is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. This project was born from passion and science and has an incredible story. Dustin Freckleton the founder of LVL’s parent company BSX experienced a stroke while at medical school that’s key contributing factor was dehydration. This experience made he decide to create products for the greater good and eventually he created LVL.

This slick new wearable claims to be the first real-time hydration tracker but also measures a whole heap of other things like heart rate, activity, mood, sleep and more.

“I’m really excited by this project” Tam, UX Designer at SMG Technologies says “Not only is LVL beautiful, but hydration is one of those things that a lot of us would like to do better and I think real-time alerts would really help here. Most of us don’t understand our body’s natural alerts for hydration and in my opinion, anything that brings us closer to knowing when to drink is amazing.

“This project is fully funded so has a real chance of becoming a mainstay in the wearable world. it’ll be interesting to see how they progress.”

Check out the project for yourself and let us know what you think.
