Tara Coleman Appointed Newest Ambassador
IronWoman athlete Tara Coleman has recently been appointed as a SportsMed Elite ambassador.
25 year old Tara, has been a Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain IronWoman athlete for the last six years and involved in Surf Life Saving for twelve years, recently being awarded ten years long service leave due to her commitment.
Growing up in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Tara joined her first surf club at the age of twelve. She gained her Surf Rescue Certificate at age thirteen and her Bronze Medallion (BM) Certificate II in Public Aquatic Rescue at the age of fifteen. Since gaining her BM, Tara has carried out voluntary patrols for the community and has achieved 100% patrol attendance every year. This is an achievement she is incredibly proud of, along with being part of Surf Life Saving Australia’s rich history.
IronWoman racing includes three main disciplines — surf swimming, board paddling, and surf ski paddling with run legs also involved. Races vary from endurance to elimination rounds, which often involve continuous racing for anywhere between 15 minutes to 3 hours. Tara has participated in the world-renowned Coolangatta Gold endurance event on five occasions, a premier event in the sport.
As an ambassador, Tara will provide insights and the daily reporting of individual data including training, performance, and wellness. These insights and data help in the constant upgrading of the predictive analytics software and new product development. Tara will further support the company’s innovation team with the testing and development of FitYou. FitYou will be launched later this year, offering individual athletes with the ability to track health, wellness and performance across multiple variables, features wearable integration and predictive analytics to enhance athletic performance.
With Tara’s history in multisport and commitment to leading a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle, her new role as an ambassador is a natural fit for both the company and Tara.
