This is what it’s like to be a Vikings fan today and every other God forsaken day in this horrible sports universe

When you’re weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I’ll dry them all
I’m on your side, oh, when times get rough

Sports suck. Never sport. Friends don’t let their friends grow up as Minnesota sports fans.

A perfectly pleasant August afternoon was interrupted with screeching screams from across the country Tuesday afternoon — the screams of Teddy Bridgewater and every Vikings fan at once. Teddy was down with a gruesome leg injury. Teammates were either screaming or huddled on the sidelines praying. Always a good sign.

Nothing is official yet, but we Vikings fans already know. Teddy’s done. Our season is done. Our secret Super Bowl hopes are done. Teddy’s season is over and so is ours because we are the Vikings and this is what we do.

It’s who we are.

Blair Walsh ended last season for us. Teddy ends this one before it even started. Heck of a bookend to an offseason.

For any other set of fans in the league, this might be among the worst seven month stretches in franchise history.
