2020 NBA Draft — Ranking the Small Forwards

Just how good can Isaac Okoro be, and do Deni Avdija or any of the other small forwards in the draft stack up?

EVERY TEAM IN THE NBA NEEDS ANOTHER WING, and this year’s small forward class is an intriguing mix of 3-and-D players and potential for more. Deni Avdija and Isaac Okoro are the wings at the top of most boards in the 2020 NBA Draft, but I’m way in on one of them and not so intrigued by the other. So how do Okoro and Avdija stack up with the competition?

Positions mean little in today’s NBA, but I’m classifying these wings as “small forwards” because they’re collectively bigger than the shooting guards we ranked yesterday, and thus big enough to guard twos, threes, and fours at the next level. SFs should theoretically have a bit more value than SGs because that size gives them more versatility and defensive value, but the classification is really just a way to sort and rank these prospects.

So is Okoro or Avdija the best wing prospect in the 2020 NBA Draft class, and how do the rest of the small forwards measure up?

Once you finish here, make sure to check out the positional draft rankings at point guard, shooting guard, power forward, and center too. And stay tuned for the final big board, coming soon!
