Lab that handled drug testing for the Olympics has been suspended.

A World Anti-Doping Agency spokesman has confirmed that the organization had suspended the Rio de Janeiro lab responsible for testing Olympic athlete samples. The suspension is reportedly due to technical errors.

The whole thing is “pretty disturbing.” — WADA director David Howman

For now, all samples are being transported to another WADA-accredited laboratory.

Between this newest scandal, the incredible number of athletes skipping the Rio games over fear of the Zika virus, and the crime/corruption that’s plaguing Rio right now, the Olympics are getting off to a rocky start.
