Time will tell if these youngsters are chips off the old block

Much like other professions, athletics is an area where children often take after their parents. When it comes to football, the college ranks often see a number of players who got their first taste from the games from their fathers who played in the NFL. Here are some of those youngsters currently playing at the NCAA level, trying to live up to the legacy of their dear old dad.

Jon Runyan Jr., Offensive Line- Michigan: Playing at his father Jon’s alma mater, he more than lived up to the family legacy. Having just completed his collegiate career, he was a four-year letter-man and two-time All-Big Ten honoree.

Dad made one Pro Bowl during a 14-year NFL career as an offensive tackle for four teams, spending his best years with the Philadelphia Eagles. Although not a major prospect, Junior has the skills to also play professionally. He may go in the later rounds or not even be drafted but will likely get a look by some team wanting to see how closely he may be able to come to matching his father.
