Erling Haaland is just 19 years old and has only played 108 matches in his entire career, yet the Leeds-born striker is making waves in the German Bundesliga and attracting the attention of major clubs from around the world.

Like father, like son

Erling is the son of former Premier League midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, who played for Leeds United and Manchester City during his time in England’s top flight.

Both players started their careers with Norwegian club Bryne FK, a club currently playing in the third-highest tier in Norway.

The father and son duo have also both been called up to represent their national side, however, Alf-Inge managed to play 34 times — whereas young Erling has only ever played twice.

Once joining Nottingham Forest back in 1994, Haaland’s father would continue to play at the highest level in England until he retired in 2003 with Manchester City — just three years after leaving Leeds United for £3.38m ($4.2m USD).

However, 8 years later Alf-Inge would amazingly return to football and sign for Rosseland BK and continue to play for another 2 years before finally hanging up the boots for good.
