When the 2020 NBA draft is held in late June, University of North Carolina guard Cole Anthony is expected to be one of the first players to come off the board. The son of long-time point guard Greg Anthony is taking the family name to new heights and projects to be an even more impactful player than his father. What other sons of former NBA stars are currently playing college ball, and will they have a chance to play professionally like dear old dad?

Trayce Jackson-Davis (Dale Davis): An intimidating big man like his dad, Jackson-Davis had a successful freshman campaign with the University of Indiana last year. A solid 6’9” and 245 pounds, he averaged 13.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

Dale Davis averaged 8 points and 7.9 rebounds in 16 NBA seasons, establishing himself as a well-known bruiser. His son is a more nuanced offensive player, but the fact that he didn’t attempt a single three-pointer last season may limit his future NBA aspirations with the way the modern game is so centered on outside play.
