It was San Antonio John Jay playing Marble Falls High School. Marble Falls was winning 16–9 and running out the clock when suddenly… two John Jay players teed off on the referee.

One of the players takes a flying start and just drills the ref from behind. The ref never saw him coming. Then, while he’s hitting the ground, another player spears him with his helmet.

“I’ve coached 14 years and I’ve never seen anything like it.” — Marble Falls coach Matt Green to the San Antonio Express-News.

The incident was caught on camera by multiple angles. Both players were ejected. The league is investigating further, according to the Express-News.
