Devonta Freeman Signs Record Deal

Freeman is now the highest paid running back in the league, signing a 5-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons worth $41.25 million. The deal was confirmed this morning via the Falcons front office.

$17.3 million is guaranteed with $22 million in guarantees. Freeman will also receive a $15 million signing bonus. Devonta took to Twitter to express his feelings:

The Atlanta Falcons are one of the more dominant forces in the league. They are led by Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Tevin Coleman and of course Devonta Freeman. The Falcons had one of the leagues best offensive attacks last season with Kyle Shanahan calling the shots. Unfortunately for them, he left to be the head coach for the San Fransisco 49ers. They then hired former USC head coach, Steve Sarkisian.

It won’t be much of a surprise to see the Falcons back in the Super Bowl in 2018.

Good News for Colts Fans

Andrew Luck is back in the news. This time, GOOD NEWS.

Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard stated that he fully expects Luck to be activated from the physically unable to perform list before the start of the regular season. With that being said, Ballard also said that Luck’s status for week 1 against the Rams is still to be determined.

So it isn’t the best news of all time, but at least it is a sigh of relief for Colts fans. Tom Pelssiero of NFL Media says that Luck has made progress through two weeks of his throwing program. He said that the Colts are fully committed to taking it as slowly as possible to ensure that there is no risk of further injury.

Come back for more news on Andrew Luck next week.
