Can you imagine this? You get signed to a 4-year deal. $11 million dollars of that is guaranteed. And four months later, the company is thinking about letting you go?

That’s what Chris Broussard, ESPN NBA analyst, is saying is happening right now in Sacramento. The Kings hired George Karl as their coach four months ago, but the owner is already unhappy with him. Seems Karl has made it clear he’d like to trade DeMarcus Cousins.

The owner, Vivek Ranadive apparently disagrees.

Not a great place to be in if you’re a coach, owner, or the player being talked about. The Sacramento Bee reports that Cousins and Karl are not speaking to each other these days.

Broussard’s source said the owner has brought up the possibility of getting rid of Karl.

Tensions have been rising considerably and it been public. Both Ranadive and VP Vlade Divac said as late as two days ago that both Cousins and Karl were staying.

At the same time, Yahoo! sports says there are trade talks underway.

Sources: Lakers, Kings exchange framework of trade centered on DeMarcus Cousins today, discussions could intensify Thursday. Story soon.

Editor’s Note: If I can get a job where I can get fired four months in and pocket $11 million dollars, sign me up right now.
