Myles Garrett Is Ready To Wreck The NFL

If you crossed an NFL defensive end with a comic book superhero, you’d get Myles Garrett.

Even as Hue Jackson uses HBO’s Hard Knocks to continue to make his case for why he should be the first head coach fired in 2018, and Gregg Williams uses the show to cement himself as one of the most boorish figures in the show’s history, there is something positive to be gleaned from the spotlight on the Cleveland Browns … and it actually has nothing to do with the perhaps over-discussed Baker Mayfield.

See, Mayfield might be the star of the show on camera, but as we saw glimpses of in the penultimate episode of the season: defensive end Myles Garrett is primed to be a superstar on the field of play.

For those of you who are fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (like myself): if you put an already-athletically-gifted NFL defensive end into a full-body transformation chamber and have Stanley Tucci oversee the injection of super soldier serum into said chamber, Myles Garrett — the #1 pick in last year’s NFL Draft — would be the guy that comes out at the end.

We tend to overuse the term in today’s media, but Garrett really is an athletic freakshow. How else do you explain someone who weighs over 270lbs, ran the 40 yard dash in the same time as the 2018 NFL rushing champion (Garrett and Kareem Hunt both were timed at 4.62 seconds at their respective combines), did 33 repetitions of 225lbs on the bench press, and had a vertical…
