Vontaze Burfict

Vontaze the Villain

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is facing a five game suspension for an illegal hit during a Week 2 preseason game against the Chiefs. This is what the Bengals had to say about the situation:

“The Bengals are aware of the NFL’s letter to Vontaze regarding a play in last weekend’s game. The film shows that the hit was legal, that Vontaze engaged his opponent from the front, and that contact was shoulder-to-chest. The Club will support Vontaze in the appeal process.”

This is not the first time that Burfict has been fined for his actions on the field. He has been fined a total of 6 different times since entering the league in 2012. SB Nation has an incredible article that shows just the type of player that Vontaze Burfict is. Check the link below.

Cameron Meredith

Bad News Bears

The Chicago Bears, who were already lacking at the wide receiver position, are now even thinner. Cameron Meredith went down after a low hit from Titans safety Johnathan Cyprien. His knee twisted and bucked as he tumbled to the ground. The MRI results are yet to come in, but it is almost certain that Meredith will miss the 2017 season with what looks like an ACL tear.

The Bears will now see former Mountaineer Kevin White as their #1 receiver. Following him will be Markus Wheaton, Victor Cruz and Kendall Wright. Do not be surprised if the Bears try to make a move to add another piece to their slim receiving core.
