Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis said Thursday that he wants the team to move to Las Vegas. Davis also pledged to contribute $500M toward the construction of a proposed $1.4B stadium in the city.

Davis says he is serious, pledging $500 million dollars towards a new stadium (although $200 million would be in the form of a loan from the NFL). Soccer’s David Beckham and Vegas casino owner Sheldon Adelson are on board, appearing with David before a committee studying a $1.4 billion stadium.

So the #Raiders want to move to Las Vegas…yeah, that sounds pretty much exactly right…https://t.co/XHSBsXkChc

The team has a one year lease for next year to stay in Oakland. Could the team play temporarily at UNLV until a new stadium is built. Probably, but it only seats 40,000. Sheldon Adelson owns the Las Vegas Sands and is behind a move to build a 65,000 seat venue near the Vegas Strip to host a variety of events, including UNLV football, soccer matches and major concerts.
