Well folks, the NFL preseason is officially underway, and we’ve got our first taste of what could be an exciting season. While it’s preseason, and we’re all about taking these performances with a grain of salt, there were some definite bright spots.

Let’s talk rookies. Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix Jr., J.J. McCarthy, and Bo Nix all saw action under the bright lights for the first time. And let me tell you, it was a mixed bag of encouraging signs. These young guns showed flashes of the talent that made them coveted draft picks. Williams looked poised, Daniels was efficient, McCarthy showed off his arm talent, and Nix managed the game well. It’s early, but there’s plenty of reason for optimism in these quarterback rooms.

Now, let’s hit the injury report. This is always a tough part of the job. The NFL is a brutal game, and unfortunately, we’ve already seen some significant setbacks. Marquise Brown, a key addition to the Chiefs’ offense, suffered a dislocated shoulder. That’s a big blow for Kansas City. We’ve seen this injury before — Tyreek Hill missed time with the same issue a few years back. This is a setback for the Chiefs, no doubt about it.

And then there’s the college football world, where the injury bug has already struck. Texas A&M’s Rueben Owens, a dynamic young running back with immense potential, is out for the season. This is a crushing loss for the Aggies. Owens was a cornerstone of their offense, and his absence will be felt deeply.

So, as we dive deeper into the preseason, we’ll be keeping a close eye on these young quarterbacks and hoping for clean bills of health for the rest of the league. This is just the beginning, folks. The real story is still being written.
