Should You Draft David Johnson First?

Who’s your number one overall pick? Most people are going with David Johnson. This is not a bad pick based on his past 2 seasons. David went 1239 rushing with 16 touchdowns and 879 yards receiving last season which is outstanding for a running back. So, based on those stats you ask why do I have caution. Simple, he changed his diet this summer per ESPN. David Johnson is reported to be a full-blown vegan now. He showed up to camp at 223 pounds. Plenty of players in the NFL have switched to vegan based diets. Journeyman defensive tackle David Carter, Griff Whalen, and Arian Foster are some notable names.
The vegan diet is one that consists of only plant derived foods. We all have our opinions on the Colin Kaepernick situation but take a look below at keep before vegan and after. Colin averaged 3283 passing and 582 rushing yards and was a top 15 fantasy quarterback. He changed his diet and his average took a plunge and he couldn’t stay healthy. His body couldn’t take the beating that the defense first NFC West offers. People will argue that Tom Brady is a vegan and he is doing well. Here’s the difference he plays in the AFC East and won’t leave the pocket unless it’s his last resort even then he will just throw it away. We won’t know exactly what his diet is until his book comes out September 19th.

This is not a knock on the vegan diet. I myself am about 70 percent converted. I just think it’s tough for bang up positions like RB, QB with RB legs, OL, DL, or LB to be on a diet like this. Im also not telling you not to pick David Johnson with your first overall pick. Here’s the facts though first three games on the Cardinals schedule will be great games for David Johnson. Then they get nine straight top 15 front seven defenses. This schedule will be tough on DJ’s new body so be cautious when drafting him.
