Some high NFL draft picks had rough seasons in 2019.

Some top prospects stumbled out of the gate

The 2019 NFL draft was highly anticipated because of the collection of available players with high-end potential, across a variety of positions. Now that the rookie seasons of these first-rounders ended, some performed to an extremely high level while others have not yet lived up to the hype. Here are five players from the first round of this year’s draft with the most disappointing rookie seasons.

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins- Selected 15th Overall by Washington: Coming out of Ohio State, hopes were high for the young signal caller. Unfortunately, he did little to live up to them. Washington was miserable all year, finishing with a 3–13 record. Their futility meant they were willing to give some playing time to their first rounder even though in hindsight he may not have been ready. Appearing in nine games (seven starts), he completed 58.6% of his passes for 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also suffered from a case of butter fingers as he fumbled six times, which was not helped by his 29 sacks. His passing numbers are even bleaker when considering he averaged just 6.7 yards per attempt. With experience and some additional weapons, it will be interesting to see how the 22-year-old develops…
