Colorado Rockies organization welcomes in 2 all-star caliber players in Ian Desmond and Greg Holland

Ever since the end of the World Series, MLB teams have been constantly improving and trying to get to build a team that will try and make the world series. One team that I have seen improve their team and is a threat is the Colorado Rockies. They are in the National League West and must get above the Dodgers and the Giants but they have totally revamped their team.

First off, they have a good young team with some very good and proven players. Before this offseason, they had one of the best third baseman in Nolan Arenado and a great outfielder in Carlos Gonzalez. Also, added into the mix is shortstop Trevor Story, 2nd baseman D.J LeMahieu, and centerfielder Charlie Blackmon. They had a decent record last year with a good lineup and a good rotation but a bad bullpen.

During this offseason, the Rockies improved tremendously by adding 2 key players Ian Desmond and Greg Holland. Desmond enjoyed a great season after signing with the Rangers for a 1 year deal worth 8 million dollars. He ended up being an all-star and was an everyday centerfielder. He will probably be playing 1st base for the Rockies. Desmond signed a 5 year 70-million-dollar contract with the Rockies.

Greg Holland was another big signing because it added an arm to the bullpen at an affordable price. He was the best closer in the league 2 years ago, but ended up having tommy john surgery and hasn’t played since. However, he is on the rebound and the Rockies were willing to take a chance on him because they needed to solidify their bullpen.

Overall these 2 signings were big for the Rockies and could very well impact the N.L west and turn the Rockies into contenders. I fully expect the Rockies to make the playoffs this year most likely as a wild card team and Greg Holland and Ian Desmond will be at the forefront of why they made it this coming season.
