At 40 years old, Vince Carter is the oldest player in the NBA. However the Olympic gold medalist and eight time All Star isn’t letting his age get the best of him. He has had a vital role with the Memphis Grizzlies this season averaging 7.7 points, 3.1 rebounds in 24 minutes per game.

On Monday, his incredible season continued as he scored 24 points in a 113–93 Grizzlies victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Carter caught fire early in the matchup and continued to produce until the final buzzer. Carter didn’t miss a single shot Vs the Bucks going 8–8 from the field and a perfect 6–6 from the arc. More notable, however, was the fact that Vince became the oldest player in NBA history to hit six triples in one game, surpassing Sam Perkins. On top of this feat, Carter became just the sixth player in NBA history to record a 20 point game over the age of 40.

The most impressive came from a reverse slam and a long range effort that beat the half time buzzer.

After two years of seeing his numbers and playing time drop, Carter has seen a resurgence in both usage rate and playing time. Memphis has been short handed at small forward all season long, with injuries from guys like Tony Allen, Chandler Parsons and James Ennis. With Chandler Parsons out for the remainder of the season with a partially torn meniscus, the Grizzlies may require more from their veteran small forward. Carter has scored 436 of his 466 point this year with Parsons off the court, and this season ending injury will likely give Vince a shot at turning back the clock even further.
