In the wake of the Kevin Durant injury in Washington, the Warriors made a move in the middle of the night to sign ex-Kings/Warriors/Clipper/Grizzlies/Suns forward, Matt Barnes. Now if you don’t know who Matt Barnes is, thanks for being a Dubs fan for the past three years.

Now for the real fans, remember when we finally went to the playoffs after a 15-year drought? Remember that feeling of comrade re and of sold-out arenas? Well, a piece of the “We Believe” team is back with the Warriors, and I think this was a good move.

Prior to the KD injury, Los Angeles Lakers, Jose Calderon was promised a spot on the roster earlier in the week which would’ve given a nice guard option for the Warriors bench, however, other than Andre Iguodala, there are no other Small Forwards on the Warriors roster. (I know, what a situation)

So, we sign Matt Barnes and to say the least, he’s juiced.

And he has a reason to be.

He’s gone from journeyman to being the only winner in the DeMarcus Cousins trade fiasco.

It’s definitely been a journey for Barnes.

So now, the Warriors’ are Durant-less until potentially the end of the season. So what should we expect?

Expect some rough patches. Expect the Warriors to lose a couple more games than we initially expected. Expect the media to blast to the world about the Warriors being hopeless without Kevin Durant. Expect Steph, Klay and Draymond to step up in the absence of Kevin Durant.

There’s even an anticipation that Steve Kerr could take the Gregg Poppovich approach and using the KD injury as an excuse to rest his starters.

This injury sounds like a devastating blow, but please keep the faith in our Warriors. We’ve become spoiled in our riches to think that one player injured will make or break our playoff run.

As always, McFly out.
