REMEMBER FOOTBALL? I think I remember football. Isn’t that the one where they throw a weirdly oblong ball around and a bunch of guys in stripes spend a long time playing hide-and-seek in black, hooded boxes? Yes, I think that’s the one.

The last time we saw a live, meaningful (sorry, XFL) football game was February 2nd, approximately 37 years ago. The San Francisco 49ers carried a 20–10 lead into the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV, but Patrick Mahomes led three late touchdown drives to help the Kansas City Chiefs become Super Bowl champions. That really happened, this year, the Year of our Lord, 2020.

And then Coronavirus happened.

I gotta be honest. I have just assumed since about April that we’d never get football this fall. And sure enough, college football appears to be on the brink. But professional $port$ are all about the money, and it looks like the NFL will give it the old college try. Wait, does that not work here?

For now, it looks like we will in fact get a 2020 NFL season, or at least the start of one. Players are in training camp already, and the first game kicks off in four weeks. So what do we know about the 2020 NFL season so far, and what
