zamboni

A man in Fargo, ND admitted he was drunk on a Zamboni during a high school hockey game. That got him a date in court. Get this: his lawyer argued the charges were no good because the Zamboni doesn’t meet the description of a vehicle. The judge didn’t buy it though.

You may be asking how people knew he was drunk. Well, Steve Anderson was driving erratically on the ice between periods. Conflicting reports, but some say he was banging into the boards as he tried to clean the ice. Police were called. An arrest was made.

Anderson blew four times the legal limit. He was sentenced to 9 days in jail, fined $1,500 and sent for evaluation.

It’s not the first time somebody’s been drunk driving on ice. Here’s a short video recap of another drunk-Zamboni-driving incident, with some of it caught-on-tape.
