SportX Spring Cup — Day 2 Recap
#1 Dwargs falls to #16 Monerodinero in the first of a series of big upsets, while our other #1 seed MV_Pitbulls scrapes by
Day 2 of the SportX Spring cup was a story of complete and utter chaos. The bracket has been completely turned on its head. Yesterday was a bad day to be a top seed, that’s for sure.
Before we get ready for a very exciting day 3, here’s a recap from the second day of the 1st round matchups!
🚀 Rout of the Day: #3 Roudystyle36 (+$3,585) vs. #14 Ballquant ($10)
Roudystyle36 was the only top seed on his side of the bracket to come out to play, putting up a clinical +$3,585 single-day profit. #14 Ballquant wasn’t neccessary doing poorly, they actually finished positive on the day. But it’s pretty much impossible to win when someone puts up numbers like Roudystyle36 did.
Special Mentions:
- No other matchups could be considered blowouts; every single other matchup came down to the wire.
🚨 Upset of the Day: #16 Monerodinero (+$100) vs. Dwargs (-$1,923)
Another day, another #1 seed falling in the first round. It looks like the SportX community won’t be getting it’s dream Gibbler23/Dwargs finals matchup after all as #1 Dwargs loses in a massive 1st round upset.
Monerodinero did a good job grinding out a $100 profit on the day, but this upset was mainly due to Dwargs epic collapse. We pointed out in our tournament preview that Dwargs was extremely “swingy”; looks like he was a victim of that today. Truly anybody can win this tournament.
Special Mentions:
- #15 Andres (+$2) takes down #2 GlassersPicks (-$923) in another massive, 1st round upset.
- #15 MZ (+$129) takes down #2 Kryptonik ($0) thanks to some shrewd MMA bets.
- #14 Tymattison (+$15) springs the upset on #3 Fitz with some timely NCAA basketball bets cashing.
- #13 Sergelaza69 (+$268) put up some very solid numbers to upset #4 BillBenter. He looks like a potential dark horse after his solid showing.
