Football legend. Brazil superstar. A true role model. We’re talking about Roberto Carlos, the iconic former footballer who achieved everything when it comes to football (or soccer, if you prefer).
One of the top players of all times has performed on multiple FIFA World Cups, leaving us speechless with his famous free kick against France at the 1997 World Cup. In 2002, he was instrumental for the Brazilian squad to win the FIFA World Cup title in Korea/Japan.
At club level, his achievements are just as impressive. Carlos joined Inter Milan in 1995, quickly astonishing fans across the world. The next year, he transferred to Real Madrid where he played for 11 years. With his top-notch performances, he helped the legendary Whites from the Spanish capital win numerous major trophies, including four La Liga titles, and three UEFA Champions Leagues. He later played for the Turkish side Fenerbahçe S.K. and returned to his homeland in 2010, joining the Corinthians team.
After his retirement in 2012, the football legend stayed part of the sport, taking up management and becoming head coach of the Turkish Sivasspor. In 2015, he had signed to be the head coach of the Delhi Dynamos of the Indian Super League. The retired left-back has recently joined the Real Madrid staff, working with young talents there and helping his team to win another Champions league title.
