Noriaki Kasai

Noriaki Kasai is a legend — not only in ski jumping, but a winter sports legend in general. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi the Japanese sports superstar competed in a record seventh Olympics and took the silver medal in the large hill individual and the bronze in team large hill, becoming the oldest ski jumper ever to take a medal at the winter Olympics. In 2016, he was honoured with a Guinness World Records certificate for the most World Cup individual starts not just in ski jumping but in all world cup disciplines run by the International Ski Federation. He has no plans to retire soon.

Primož Brezec

Primož Brezec, Slovenian basketball player, played eight seasons in the NBA, while also achieving a lot of successes in his career before the move into the US, playing for the best Slovene basketball club Union Olimpija. While starting in the NBA in 2001 as a player for Indiana Pacers, he was picked up in the 2004 NBA Expansion Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. As the Bobcats’ starting center he scored the first points, made the first turnover, and hit the first free-throws in the history of the franchise. Brezec retired in 2017 and currently works as a scout for the NBA franchise Cleveland Cavaliers.

Savo Milošević

Savo Milošević, currently the Vice president of Football Association of Serbia, is one of the most well-known former football players from Serbia. After making a name for himself at Partizan Belgrade, he signed for the Premiership side Aston Villa, and later went on to spend the vast majority of the following decade playing in Spain, netting nearly 300 official goals over a 16-year professional career. At the international level, Milošević appeared in two World Cups and one European Championship, at which he earned the Golden Boot at Euro 2000.

Špela Pretnar

Špela Pretnar is currently working with the Slovene Skiing Federation, working to promote the sport among future generations. In her skiing career the technical alpine disciplines specialist won the small crystal globe in slalom in the 1999–2000 season. She won six FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup races, with 13 podium finishes altogether in her career. Pretnar was named Slovenian sportswoman of the year in 2000, and represented Slovenia at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Vasja Bajc

Vasja Bajc is a Slovenian ski jumping coach and former ski jumper who competed from 1979 to 1988, He competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. In 1990, having retired from competition, Bajc started to coach the Spanish national ski jumping team. He relocated to Japan in 1994 to begin personally coaching Kazuyoshi Funaki, which led to Bajc coaching the Japanese national ski jumping team until 2002. Since then he has coached teams from the Netherlands, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Turkey. He is the current coach ofthe United States women’s ski jumping team, starting to work with Team US in 2014.
