I am incredibly excited to share about a training program we are launching for young engineers and developers in Morocco.

Last year, we opened a small office in Casablanca. It was a way for us to attract talent that we could afford. I grew up in Morocco but had no work experience there. I saw a reality I ignored 1/Very few job opportunities where you could learn and grow as a person. 2/A gap between education and what the market needs. 3/Young engineers willing to work hard but not having visibility on how to succeed.

At SpotAngels, we decided to modestly act by starting a small but ambitious 6 month free training program in data engineering. Trainees will work for us part-time and study the rest of the time. We will provide access to Udacity’s paid online courses, an office with internet and a grant of 3000 MAD a month.

At the end of the program, we will either hire our trainees or help them find a job as data analysts and software engineers.

We will start with a batch of 3 and will expand the program if successful.

This program resonates with our internal values and how we think the world should be: equal access to opportunities and hard work that pays off. We hope we will be able to ignite a spark and build something greater than us.
