At Spotgini we are developing an AI-powered tool that enables you to create an online “conversational persona” of yourself. In other words, it enables you to create a conversational interface with your persona.

By visiting this online conversational persona people can have a structured conversation with you. The tool frees up your time and gives a much better experience to people trying to reach you than email or social media. People can reach out to message you, request your time, get quick answers from you to any questions they may have or even your thoughts on certain topics. Our goal is to enable people to “be there for others” through your persona even though you cannot be available in real time.

Why create a conversational persona?

Today most people outside your inner circle reach out to you via email or social media. The process hasn’t changed in decades.

It is not an interactive or instantaneous experience. People send you a message and have to wait for a response. Even if you have answered a similar question from someone else on more than one occasion, the tools don’t remember and reuse the information. There are exceptions like a basic out-of-office reply in case of email.

A live interaction with someone on the other hand, be it online or in-person, is a much better and efficient process. Additionally, you get the satisfying feeling of getting instantaneous first-hand information aka straight from the horse’s mouth.

We think that the next generation of communication tools should get you closer to the capabilities and efficiency of face to face communication while still retaining the qualities we like about emails and social media. We think communication via a “conversational persona” moves us towards that goal.

AI-enabled self-learning instant query response

By visiting your online conversational persona people can get answers to routine questions or your thoughts on certain topics instantly. Here is how that works-When people ask a question, the AI tries to extract the meaning out of it. The question is then matched with questions that you have answered before. If you had answered a similar question before even if the words were different the AI matches and suggests the answer. For example: “Do you provide lunch at the event?” and “Is food going to be served at the event” will be matched even if the words used are not the same.

If the AI is not able to match the query with high confidence it tells the visitor that it will have to get back. It takes the unanswered question to your inbox.

The unanswered question is taken to your inbox.

You can then answer the user’s question in your inbox. This answered question is then added to you answered questions list. Thus it makes your persona become more and more able to answer questions overtime.

You can manually populate by anticipating people’s questions upfront as well as just respond unanswered questions and have it grow over time.

We think it is much more satisfying and carries more weight hearing it from the horse’s mouth. We are actively working to make the query matches better.

Qualifying Incoming communication

Spotgini can give you more control and customization over your incoming messages when they comes via Spotgini into your email inbox. This takes it a step further than some email tools that label your email “important” based on “their criteria”. They don’t provide any way for you to customize and define what you consider important.

Here are the characteristics of the email when it get to you via Spotgini.

1. It is coming from a real person.
2. It is written specifically for you. Its not a mass email.
3. It is more actionable. You won’t have to reply back asking for more information. Using the Greeter tool, you can configure to get all the information from the person trying to reach you beforehand.
4. It will have a match score to help prioritize. You can designate certain responses from people trying to reach you as “preferred responses”.

Conversational persona? Why not call it Chatbot or a Virtual assistant

We say Spotgini is a tool to create your “conversational persona”. It is a conversational interface builder after all. So why not just call it that instead? Some conversational interfaces that you might have come across online include a. Chatbot- these are trained for a specific business usecase ex:- Airlines, Banking or any specific organisation b. Customer support conversational agents- vast majority of which need a human person to be present on the other end c. Virtual assistants-these are conversational interfaces either text or voice which are a third person. ex- Google Assistant, Alexa, Siri, Bixby etc. They help you perform specific tasks.

Here is where Spotgini differs- With the above tools you are basically saying “Sorry I am not available in person so please interact with my chatbot or virtual assistant”, where as with Spotgini you are saying “Sorry I am not available in person, but you can still interact with me via this persona I have created, the words (and in the future, my voice) are still mine.”

Whose conversational persona would you love to interact with.

What if the late Stephen Hawking had a conversational persona? We know he is a famous physicist. But what if we also wanted to know his thoughts on a specific esoteric topic in physics in his own words, or even his thoughts on random things like golf or pizza or astrology or the impact of AI and Automation? Given a chance would you have liked to chat with Stephen Hawking? How about your favorite professor or an expert you admire or physician you trust or a family member.

Future Developments.

The tool in its current form can useful to everyone. We will keep working on making the query matches better. New features in the future will be added in the form of modules specialized for certain professionals, organisations or to achieve specific tasks such as crowd-sourcing or surveys etc.

The full screen interface available to anyone with a browser provides a massive surface area as opposed to a small chat window unlocking possibilities for transformational experiences for things such as conversational ecommerce, crowdsourcing, consuming media etc.
