On Nov. 5th 2015 The Ailey II Company dancers performed at The Jay and Linda Grunin Center For The Arts in Toms River, NJ.
Described by Dance Magazine as “second to none,” the talented dancers in the company presented a powerful performance of dance pieces including “In and Out,” “I Am the Road,” and “Something Tangible.” On this night, the Ailey II Company captivated the audience..
Under the direction of Troy Powell, the brilliant pairing of dancers mirrored the lean lines, energy, and interplay of movement lighting their way. Playful at times and always soulful, the dancers took their turns in the spotlight.
The dancers used space and time to create an illusion of movement even while standing still. Movement ingrained in every muscle ripple, whether subtle or exaggerated, paved their way in and out of the joy of dance.
The audience was informed and in tune, with the movement, the rhythm and the abundant joy on stage. All, made for an evening of audience emotions entwined with the magic of Ailey II Company.
