The Brubeck Brothers Quartet tore it up at The Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts ! And NJ’s Love Imagery captured exclusive photos of the jazz-magic…
On Thursday eve, Oct 22, 2015, sons of jazz legend Dave Brubeck — Chris on bass and trombone, and Dan on drums — presented a brilliant display of musical virtuosity. The audience was an ‘in the know’ kind of crowd, well versed in the spontaneity and intricacies that make for great jazz. Audience reaction was perfectly timed to the energy and vibe of the music… as dictated by the Brubeck Brothers Quartet.
They played some of their father’s lesser known compositions such as ‘Jazzanians’ and ‘Marian McPartland’… as well as well-known Dave Brubeck classics like ‘Kathy’s Waltz,’ (written for their sister) and ‘Blue Rondo A La Turk’… They killed it with a bring-the-audience-to-their-feet rendition of ‘Take Five!’
